Alfred Haig has been a director of his principal company, Atlas Australia, for 42 years and has more than 30 years of experience providing expert consulting services to industry-leading horse owners and breeders. Mr Haig operates with people regarded as pioneers in equine sports physiology. He partnered with the founder of Precision Equine Systems to focus on thoroughbred performance evaluation and consultancy. His passion for breeding science, genetics, and DNA has been a driving force behind his work for decades as he understands the critical role these factors play in producing elite equine athletes. The expertise of the Scientific Equine Technology team includes qualifications such as Bachelor Degrees with Honours in Veterinary Science from renowned universities, membership in leading veterinary organizations, and extensive experience in equine practice and research. By integrating cutting-edge breeding science, genetic analytics, and performance data, Mr. Haig and his team help breeders make informed decisions that maximize the potential of their thoroughbreds. Daniel Dyson
Passion, integrity, and accountability were deeply ingrained in Daniel’s upbringing, inspired by generations of horsemen in his family. Daniel began his career on the backside of Santa Anita, working for a Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint-winning trainer. From there, he expanded his expertise by joining the Horse Identification Office at Santa Anita, Los Alamitos, and Del Mar under the guidance of experienced professionals. During his time at the track, Daniel developed a keen interest in understanding the foundation of thoroughbreds, which led him to relocate to Kentucky. There, he joined the prestigious Heritage Thoroughbred Group, guided by mentors like Matthew Carter and Christopher Jameson, who helped him refine his knowledge of the thoroughbred industry. His time with the Heritage team in the U.S., Ireland, and Australia gave him hands-on experience in breeding, foaling, early development, and sale preparation at a world-class level. While in Australia, Daniel also gained valuable insights working with the renowned racing team of Emma Holloway and David Bennett.
Matthew Carter
Upon returning to the U.S, Daniel was introduced to the CEO of Precision Equine Analytics, Matthew Carter. Inspired by the team’s innovative approach, Daniel was motivated to deepen his understanding of thoroughbreds through biomechanics and performance prediction. After two years as a technician with Precision Equine Analytics, Daniel now combines his traditional knowledge of thoroughbreds with advanced technology and data-driven insights to assist clients in all aspects of their bloodstock needs.
Dr. Lindstrom,
Dr. Lindstrom, a key member of the Precision Equine Analytics team, has been a frequent speaker at international conferences on horse physiology and locomotion since the mid-1990s. He has published numerous papers on these subjects and was recently featured in Equine Motion Studies. Dr. Lindstrom is the chief developer of StrideSelect®, a proprietary system designed to identify elite equine athletes through advanced analytics. His current research focuses on phenotypic heritability, blending cutting-edge veterinary science with data analysis. Holding a Doctorate and PhD in Veterinary Medicine from a leading Scandinavian university, Dr. Lindstrom is also an accomplished mathematician and programmer, contributing a unique multidisciplinary skill set to the field
